The Ibis in Egyptian culture was traditionally associated with Thoth the god of wisdom and writing

filled front and back of each page in combination of ink and graphite on blue and natural wove paper

which I only noticed when looking from the underside

and at the other a wonderful fist-shaped nib to match

with the stems never folded and such great graphics that they would also be worthy of popping in a frame

I find it quite striking though, and like the combination of sort of Santa Claus looking bearded face with wonderfully detailed uniform, which looks very smart and super graphic against the black paper ground, to which it is attached by tape in a couple spots. The black paper is not be as old as the paper cut itself, the latter of which I'd guess dates to
